FMS Is Building Something Big for Skilled Trades

FMS families and students, here's a first look at something we're really excited about: the Construction Skilled-Trades Lab coming to our technical center.

This new 4,000-square-foot facility will be built on the site of the former PreK West building and is set to open by Fall 2027. The equipment for the Lab has already been purchased and is on site at FMS, ready for installation once construction is complete.

Walk & Roll to School Day Is a Reminder to Drive Carefully Near Schools

This morning, students and staff at Mesa Verde Elementary joined communities across the country in celebrating National Walk & Roll to School Day along College Boulevard. The annual event encourages students to build healthy habits that support physical health, mental alertness, and traffic safety, especially in busy areas near our schools. Go, Wildcats!

Language & Culture Department Hosts Family Event on Kinaaldá

Last week, our Language & Culture Department hosted a family event and presentation on Kinaaldá, the traditional four-day coming-of-age ceremony for young girls in the Diné culture. The evening was led by Dr. Avery Denny, who shared his knowledge of the ceremony, including the preparations that come before it and the teachings that guide it.

Hermosa NJHS missed out on one of their longest standing traditions of preparing and serving Thanksgiving dinner to the residents of Appleridge due to Covid-19.   However, they still wanted to do something special for them, so they baked treats (cookies, muffins, etc.) at their own homes and set up a non-contact delivery.  The goodies were delivered on Thursday. The residents were thrilled and appreciative of the students’ efforts and kindness.  We are very proud of our NJHS kids and their selflessness to remember others during the holiday season.  Go Matadors!
